Faktum \u00e4r att hela 70% av f\u00f6rarna i f\u00f6rra \u00e5rets Indianapolis 500 passerat genom Indy Lights. Av de 34 f\u00f6rare som vunnit Indy Lights-titeln genom \u00e5ren &#8211; bland andra Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan och Josef Newgarden \u2013 har samtliga f\u00f6rutom tre g\u00e5tt vidare till INDYCAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Totalt har drygt 100 (!) f\u00f6rare avancerat fr\u00e5n Indy Lights till INDYCAR, med unga framtidsnamn som Colton Herta, Pato O\u2019Ward och Rinus VeeKay bland de senaste i raden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En annan som t\u00e4vlat i Indy Lights \u00e4r Felix Rosenqvist, som under en partiell s\u00e4song 2016 blev den f\u00f6rste och hittills ende svensken att vinna ett Indy Lights-race. F\u00f6r tillf\u00e4llet \u00e4r 13 bilar anm\u00e4lda, med potential f\u00f6r fler senare under s\u00e4songen. P\u00e5 gridden finns b\u00e5de erfarna Indy Lights-f\u00f6rare och flerfaldiga \u2013 och regerande \u2013 m\u00e4stare fr\u00e5n olika andra m\u00e4sterskap.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Till att b\u00f6rja med har vi Linus eget team: Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports. Den nybildade konstellationen \u00e4r en sammanslagning mellan tv\u00e5 framtr\u00e4dande stall p\u00e5 den amerikanska juniorracingscenen: Christian Pedersens Global Racing Group och Henry Malukas HMD Motorsports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fusionen har gjort teamet till ett av de st\u00f6rsta i Indy Lights med fyra bilar, d\u00e4r <strong>Linus<\/strong> f\u00e5r s\u00e4llskap av <strong>Nikita Lastochkin<\/strong> samt team\u00e4garnas s\u00f6ner <strong>Benjamin Pedersen<\/strong> och <strong>David Malukas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Den minnesgode kanske k\u00e4nner igen Malukas fr\u00e5n fjol\u00e5rets Formula Regional Americas-s\u00e4song, d\u00e4r han var Linus fr\u00e4mste titelutmanare och ocks\u00e5 tog hem de tv\u00e5 race som Linus inte vann.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dessf\u00f6rinnan t\u00e4vlade Malukas p\u00e5 Road to Indy-stegen, i b\u00e5de USF2000 och Indy Pro 2000 (som p\u00e5 den tiden hette Pro Mazda) innan han till slut tog steget upp till Indy Lights s\u00e4songen 2019. Han tog tv\u00e5 pallplatser under sin debuts\u00e4song i m\u00e4sterskapet och blev sexa totalt, och \u00e4r den ende i Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports som faktiskt redan t\u00e4vlat i Indy Lights.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastochkin \u00e4r en annan erfaren Road to Indy-f\u00f6rare, som i \u00e5r tar steget upp till Indy Lights efter tv\u00e5 s\u00e4songer i USF2000 (2015-2016) och tre i Indy Pro 2000 (2017-2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pedersen, \u00e5 sin sida, har ocks\u00e5 ackumulerat en hel del mil i amerikansk formelbilsracing i b\u00e5de Formel 4 och Formel 3\/FR Americas (d\u00e4r han blev tv\u00e5a totalt 2019). Ut\u00f6ver det har dansk-amerikanen ocks\u00e5 st\u00e4llt upp i det brittiska Formel 3-m\u00e4sterskapet tv\u00e5 \u00e5r i rad, med en seger f\u00f6r Double R Racing \u2013 samma team som Linus tog hem BF3-titeln med 2018 \u2013 i fjol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linus har startnummer #26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Andretti Autosport<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Det andra fyrbilsteamet p\u00e5 gridden \u00e4r Indy Lights-giganten Andretti Autosport, som ocks\u00e5 n\u00e5tt stora framg\u00e5ngar och vunnit otaliga race i INDYCAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e5nga f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntar sig att Andrettis titelattack kommer att anf\u00f6ras av <strong>Kyle Kirkwood <\/strong>\u2013 en flerfaldig Road to Indy-stipendiat som vunnit alla tidigare m\u00e4sterskap han st\u00e4llt upp i.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Efter guld i amerikanska Formel 4 2017 klev Kirkwood in p\u00e5 Road to Indy-arenan 2018. Han dominerade omedelbart USF2000 med 12 segrar p\u00e5 14 race. F\u00f6r s\u00e4kerhets skull kammade han ocks\u00e5 hem F3 Americas (senare omd\u00f6pt till Formula Regional Americas) samma \u00e5r, och satte ett rekord p\u00e5 15 segrar som f\u00e5 trodde att n\u00e5gon n\u00e5gonsin skulle matcha \u2013 innan Linus faktiskt gjorde det i fjol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2019 \u00e5terfanns Kirkwood i Indy Pro 2000, d\u00e4r han i kraft av nio segrar i de sista 11 racen landade sin fj\u00e4rde titel p\u00e5 bara tre \u00e5r. Kirkwood skulle ursprungligen ha debuterat i Indy Lights redan 2020, men tvingades senarel\u00e4gga den planen n\u00e4r m\u00e4sterskapet st\u00e4lldes in i sp\u00e5ren av coronapandemin. Ist\u00e4llet t\u00e4vlade han sporadiskt i sportvagnar i IMSA-serien under fjol\u00e5rss\u00e4songen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I Andrettis line-up \u00e5terfinns ocks\u00e5 <strong>Robert Megennis <\/strong>(som redan vunnit ett Indy Lights-race, Indianapolis 2019), Singapores <strong>Danial Frost<\/strong> och Italien-kanadensaren <strong>Devlin DeFrancesco<\/strong>. DeFrancesco och Frost slutade tv\u00e5a respektive trea i f\u00f6rra \u00e5rets upplaga av Indy Pro 2000, endast slagna av\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Juncos Racing<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026<strong>Sting Ray Robb<\/strong>. Den regerande Indy Pro 2000-m\u00e4staren stannar kvar med Juncos Racing f\u00f6r steget upp till Indy Lights, och \u00e4r genom sin prischeck p\u00e5 drygt 600&nbsp;000 dollar den tredje stipendiaten p\u00e5 gridden bredvid Linus och Kyle Kirkwood.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Juncos Racings andra bil k\u00f6rs av engelsmannen <strong>Toby Sowery<\/strong>, som st\u00e5r inf\u00f6r sin andra Indy Lights-s\u00e4song. Sowery vann ett race under sitt debut\u00e5r 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Carlin<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>2021 blir \u00e5ret d\u00e5 Linus \u00e5terupptar fighten med Trevor Carlins ber\u00f6mda team, som han regelbundet slogs emot under tiden i Europa 2017-2019. Det brittiska stallet \u00e5terv\u00e4nder till Indy Lights den h\u00e4r s\u00e4songen efter att ha vunnit titeln med nuvarande INDYCAR-f\u00f6raren Ed Jones 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carlin st\u00e4ller tv\u00e5 bilar p\u00e5 startlinjen i \u00e5r. Den ena kommer att k\u00f6ras av <strong>Christian Bogle<\/strong> \u2013 som tar ett rej\u00e4lt steg fr\u00e5n USF2000 \u2013 och den andra av australiensaren <strong>Alex Peroni<\/strong>, vars karri\u00e4r i Europa under de senaste fem \u00e5ren bland annat inkluderat en seger p\u00e5 Monacos gator i Formula Renault Eurocup 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Pserra Racing<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c5rets startf\u00e4lt fullbordas av ett enbilsteam f\u00f6r<strong> Antonio Serravalle<\/strong>, Kanada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LADDA NER: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuslundqvistracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/indy-lights-entry-list.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">startlista (per 1 april)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Bilarna<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Indy Lights till\u00e4mpar ett enhetsreglemente, vilket inneb\u00e4r att alla t\u00e4vlar med tekniskt likv\u00e4rdigt material. Bilarna, <strong>Dallara IL-15<\/strong>, byggs av italienska Dallara och drivs fram av en tv\u00e5liters turbomotor fr\u00e5n <strong>Advanced Engine Research<\/strong> (AER). Tr\u00e4ningen k\u00f6rs under den f\u00f6rsta evenemangsdagen, vanligtvis \u00f6ver 40-45 minuter. H\u00e4r handlar det om att hitta r\u00e4tt inst\u00e4llningar och strategi, snarare \u00e4n om ren varvtid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Precis tv\u00e4rt om \u00e4r det emellertid i de tv\u00e5 tidskvalen; h\u00e4r \u00e4r det bara klockan som g\u00e4ller.
