Linus suffered an early blow heading into the race weekend at Mid-Ohio when he went off on his first lap in Friday practice, forcing him to sit out the rest of the session.
Heading into the sharp Turn 2 right-hander also known as the Keyhole, Linus locked up and went off into the gravel trap on his out lap, tagging the barriers.
The damage sustained to the front of the car was serious enough to mark the end of the session, practically before it had begun.
Fortunately, the official practice session was preceded by three 90-minute tests across Thursday and Friday, making the lost track time slightly less damaging – although another off in Test 3 forced Linus to sit out parts of that session, too.
With Linus restricted to a bystander role in the pits, the practice times were topped by title rival Kyle Kirkwood who led an Andretti Autosport 1-2-3.
Coming up next is Qualifying 1 at 🇺🇸3.35-4.05 pm / 🇸🇪21.35-22.05.
