The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is reaching its halfway mark this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The track is not new for Linus, he raced here both in FR Americas and Indy NXT with good results.
With half the rookie season completed in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Linus and the team have experienced both success and many valuable lessons. The series is now entering an exciting second half of the season when the new hybrid system will be implemented. The hybrid system that is plugged into the existing engine package is estimated to add about 60 extra horsepower of electric boost once deployed by the drivers. Unfortunately, the hybrid system adds more weight to the car so it is likely that we will not see any significant differences in lap times compared to before. But the interesting thing will be to see how the drivers will utilize the hybrid system while driving.
– When it comes to the new hybrid system, it will be very interesting to see where Honda stand against Chevrolet – says Linus. During the tests it has looked very even but now it is all of a sudden racing for real, so now we will see were everybody really stands.
Personally, I am very interested in how it will look in racemode, who has learned the most, which of us drivers will be able to take advantage of the hybrid system best. Soon we will know!
