Linus returns to the track again this weekend as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES continues at full speed with one of this season’s double-headers with two races on the schedule at Iowa Speedway.
Just days after the previous round at Mid-Ohio last weekend, America’s premier single-seater series is gearing up for twice the fun with two races to be staged on consecutive days at Iowa Speedway.
As the first of two race weekends on the calendar where two races will be run – one on Saturday and one on Sunday – double points are at stake at the Iowa oval for Linus and his competitors.
– In terms of points, this is an important weekend – says Linus. Two races means twice the points available, and we only have one practice and one qualifying session to set ourselves up for both. We had a very good test here a couple of weeks ago, so it feels like we’re coming to Iowa with a good package – Linus continues. However, there is still a lot to learn when it comes to the new hybrid system, and it will be an intense weekend, we will really need to roll off strong.
At 0.875 miles, Iowa Speedway is known as “The World’s Fastest Short Track”, referencing 18-second lap times at average speeds of around 180 mph. It will be exceptionally demanding physically and mentally on the drivers, and intense racing with many laps to be managed.
