Linus produced a commanding drive in the opening race of the weekend at the IMS road course, scoring a flag-to-flag win from pole and setting the fastest lap on his way to victory.
Never headed in the 30-lap affair, Linus led an emphatic 1-2 for Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports in front of David Malukas.
With his second win of the season, Linus also takes over the championship lead to fulfill a perfect day at the track.
LINUS: “I think it’s going to take a few hours for my heartbeat to come down. Race winner at Indianapolis Motor Speedway – that doesn’t sound too bad! It’s incredible to give this back to the team with a 1-2 for me and David. A massive thank you to them, my sponsors and to Honda/HPD for bringing me into Victory Lane today.”
Racing resumes at IMS on Saturday with a second qualifying and race double to complete the weekend.
