Linus swept to a dominant brace of pole positions in qualifying for this weekend’s Indy Lights double-header on the streets of Detroit, setting a blistering pace to lead the charts by half a second.
Instantly shooting to the top of the timesheets on his first flying lap, Linus controlled both 12-minute qualifying sessions throughout, leading HMD Motorsports team-mate Benjamin Pedersen in session one and a quartet of Andretti Autosport cars in session two.
The outcome nets Linus his fourth and fifth poles of the season, out of a possible six.
LINUS: “Yes! That was such a rewarding feeling. It was difficult with such short sessions, and the cool temperatures here this morning. I knew I had to push hard from the go to prepare the tyres for those last few laps that mattered, and I just felt very confident out there.
“We seem to have a sizeable gap to the others in terms of pace, which is obviously encouraging going into the first race this afternoon, but now we need to regroup and make sure we’re fully prepared to convert this into victory in a few hours.”
